All time furniture exports record broken by Istanbul.
Despite the Coronavirus epidemic, the all-time furniture exports record was broken in 2020 with exports of $5.6 billion in furniture, paper and forestry products by Istanbul.
Last year, the top 10 furniture exporters were Iraq, Germany, Saudi Arabia, the USA, Israel, France, Libya, England, Romania and the Netherlands,
Istanbul Furniture Paper and Forest Products Exporters’ Association President Ahmet Güleç said that the furniture, paper and forestry products industry broke a record with exports worth $5 billion in 2020.
Indicating that they exported 3.5 billion dollars in the furniture sector, Güleç explained that the furniture, paper and forestry products sector has grown systematically since 2002.
Güleç said that they are following an effective strategy by bringing together sector representatives, country buyers and exporters and this is responsible for the furniture exports record by Istanbul.
Expressing that they mainly exported paper-cardboard packaging to EU countries and rose to the position of Europe’s third largest producer, Güleç said that in furniture, the most demand was for children’s cots, cradles, dining and living room furniture, wooden furniture used in stores, wooden medicine cabinets and wooden bathroom cabinets
Ahmet Güleç stated that the exporters of furniture, paper and forestry products took serious and rapid measures against the epidemic, determined and implemented strategies and this is what made Istanbul break the all time furniture exports record.
