Coronavirus rules being broken in the name of sports!
Sports are not just sports – they mean big big money – for the organizations that hold these games! And so, all over the world, a number of sports organizations have ‘returned to normal’ – and all kinds of sporting events are now being conducted – all over the globe.
And the norms that have been dictated for the COVID-19 pandemic, are being broken time and time again – all over the globe, because of these sports that are being held.
How are sports stars reacting?
Canadian offensive lineman, Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, Kansas City player, opted out of playing for the NFL season, because of the Coronavirus catastrophe.
Laurent Duvernay-Tardif says:
‘If I am to take risks, I will do it caring for patients.’
NASCAR driver Joey Logano does not want to take any chances with the Coronavirus disease and says:
“I’ve tried to treat everyone like they have COVID-19. That’s at least my way of trying to stay safe. Some of the best advice I’ve gotten out of this whole thing is assume everybody has coronavirus and what would you do? You’re obviously not going to shake someone’s hand, you’re going to stay a little more distant, you’re going to wear your mask, you’re going to wash your hands often or use hand sanitizer. You’re going to do that stuff.”
Jeff Passan Tweets:
“Eight more players and two coaches with the Miami Marlins have tested positive for COVID-19, as an outbreak has spread throughout their clubhouse and brought the total of cases in recent days to at least 14, sources familiar with the situation tell me…”
“Top players opting out. COVID outbreaks happening in other leagues. It’s not fun to think about a fall with no football, but maybe we need a hard stop on sports in 2020?”
