Crude oil futures rise, gold falls.
On the New York Exchange, crude oil futures for March delivery were trading at $53.08 per barrel, up 0.43%.
The US Dollar Futures Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback against 6 other major currencies, fell 0.18%, to trade at $90.302.
On the Comex division of the New York Exchange, gold futures for February delivery were trading at $1,871.50 per troy ounce, down 0.27%. Earlier, the troy ounce was trading in a bearish dollar session. Gold was likely to find resistance at $1,872.65 and support at $1,800.80.
Elsewhere on the Comex, money for March delivery rose 0.88% and traded at $25.992 per troy ounce, while Copper for March delivery rose 0.48%, to trade at $3.6630 per pound.
Earlier, the barrel was trading in a bullish dollar session. Crude oil was likely to find support at $51.76 and resistance at $53.82.
Elsewhere on the ICE, Brent Oil for delivery in March rose 0.43% and traded at $55.84 per barrel, while the spread between the value of contracts on Brent oil and crude oil stood at $2.76 per barrel.
