Crushing Environmental Disasters 2020

Crushing environmental disasters 2020!

If you have been wondering what natural disaster happened in 2020, then you can be sure of one thing – there is no shortage of them.

Most people are unaware of the fact that fur farming can be extremely harmful to the environment and this has been one of the biggest 2020 disasters so far.

Fur Free Alliance Tweets:

“Contrary to #greenwashing claims of the fur industry, intensive #fur farming has a severe ecological footprint and hinders #ruraldevelopment. Waste runoff from farms pollutes soil and waterways and renders lakes unswimmable”

In the Arctic Circle, in the first week of June 2020, there was a spillage of 20,000 tonnes of diesel, causing one of the biggest environmental disasters 2020! This was so bad, that Vladimir Putin, the Leader of Russia, had to order a state of emergency.

Archie (Bishop Fandango) Tweets:

“20,000 tonnes of diesel spilled in river in the Arctic circle. Leak was caused by tank breaking due to being built on melting permafrost frost. Global warming leading to more environmental disasters. 2020’s events are the tip of the iceberg.”

This Tweet by Reto Knutti is extremely intriguing:

“In 2018, 4 of the 5 top global risks identified by @wef were environmental/climate. Now 2020, it’s 6 of 7 (climate action failure, extreme weather, biodiv., nat. disasters, human made environm. disasters, water, cyberattacks).”

Almost 300 million people could be displaced all over the globe, as a result of various natural disasters 2020.

Karol Cummins Tweets:

“Climate crisis: Rising sea levels and catastrophic storm surges could displace 280m people, UN warns… IPCC draft report is fourth to call for radical action to tackle environmental disaster”

Shockingly, since the past 5 odd years, in the Red Sea, an Oil Tanker filled with crude oil, has been lying abandoned.

Matthew O’Dell Tweets:

“can someone tell me whose bloody idea it was to abandon an Oil Tanker in The Red Sea still loaded with its cargo load of Crude Oil for Five Years with it now on the verge of exploding creating a possible environmental disaster on our hands in 2020.”

Truly, there is no shortage of environmental disasters 2020!
