How Novel Coronavirus has helped our environment!
The Coronavirus pandemic has killed lacs of people all over the globe and infected many millions. Perhaps, many more will be killed and many more will be infected because of this killer Coronavirus disease – but, and this may be hard to believe – the killer virus has actually helped make the environment of the Earth better.
As the number of infections because of the Coronavirus started to grow all over the globe, governments told their people to stay at home.
As millions of people started staying at home, factories, offices and even schools were either shut completely – or had limited activities. Flights were reduced to as much as 60 – 95% and even road traffic was at a minimal.
The result is that there has been a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution.
The quality of air improved greatly in March and April 2020, in major cities all over the globe. This air quality improvement has been mainly because of a drop in road traffic and factory emissions of particulate matter (PM), nitrogen oxides (NOx), carbon dioxide (CO2) and related ozone (O3) formation.
Strange though it seems, Novel Coronavirus has actually helped our environment!
