New virus found in China like Coronavirus!

Scientists of China have announced that they have now found a new flu strain, which has the potential of turning out into a pandemic. They state that the new virus was found only recently and though it is being carried by pigs, it can also infect human beings.

This new kind of Coronavirus, is a genetic descendant from the H1N1 strain – the very same strain that brought about the Coronavirus pandemic in the year 2009.

About the new virus, experts say:

It possesses “all the essential hallmarks of being highly adapted to infect humans.”

Scientists are extremely worried that this new virus could further mutate and spread very easily from human to human and thus trigger another global pandemic. They also add that though the G4 virus does not seem to be a problem that is immediate, it appears to possess all the qualities required, to make it capable of infecting humans. Experts and scientists add that as such, the G4 virus needs to very closely monitored.

The Coronavirus kind of virus, has been labeled as G4 strain and it has already infected about 10% of China’s industry workers. But thus far, there is no suggestive evidence which indicates that it passes from humans to humans.

Prof Kin-Chow Chang, Nottingham University, UK, states:

“Right now we are distracted with Coronavirus and rightly so. But we must not lose sight of potentially dangerous new viruses. We should not ignore it.”

A spokeswoman of the World Health Organization says:

“Eurasian avian-like swine influenza virus are known to be circulating in the swine population in Asia and to be able to infect humans sporadically. It also highlights that we cannot let down our guard on influenza; we need to be vigilant and continue surveillance even during the COVID-19 pandemic.”

At the time of submitting this, there were 520,000 deaths and 10,500,000 cases globally, caused by Coronavirus.
