Seven finalists for 2021 European Car of the Year!
Among the seven finalists for the 2021 European Car of the Year title, there are three models available in electric version and only one French car.
It was the Peugeot 208 – a model also available in electric – which won the title in 2020. It had also finished ahead of two 100% electric models: the Tesla Model 3 and the Porsche Taycan. In 2019, it was also an electric model that won the crown (Jaguar I-Pace).
There are only seven finalists left for 2021 European Car of the Year!
The organizers of the 2021 European Car of the Year trophy have unveiled the finalists who can claim the title in 2021. Among them, there is only one French car: the new Citroën C4. It has a beautiful card to play because it is at the same time original, comfortable and its prices are more affordable than those of its direct competitors.
The new C4 can count on its electric version “e-C4”, available since the launch of the model at the beginning of the second half of 2020 in France. Moreover, this 2021 edition of the Car of the Year is clearly placed under the sign of ecological transition.
Criteria that count in the eyes of the 60 European journalists who make up the jury for selecting the winner of 2021 European Car of the Year, in addition to driving pleasure, are also safety aspects, functionalities and environmental performance.
Among the finalists, there are two electric models, in addition to the C4: the Volkswagen ID3 and the new Fiat 500. The others are all available in hybrid version: Toyota Yaris, Skoda Octavia, Cupra Formentor and Land Rover Defender. The final vote will take place on March 1, 2021.
